KTS Product history
The History of an Original German Manufacturer
Since 1998, KTS-Electronic has been developing and manufacturing metal detectors, gold detectors and 3D ground scanners in Germany.
Over 28 years, numerous product generations have been introduced and continuously refined. This page presents selected milestones from the history of KTS detection technology.
Ground scanners
The Original GPA Series
The GPA series is one of the most recognized KTS product lines worldwide. Designed for natural gold prospecting, treasure hunting, cavity detection and deep ground analysis, GPA systems have evolved through multiple generations over more than two decades.
The success of the GPA series has led to numerous imitations and similar model names appearing on the international market over the years.
Original GPA systems are developed and manufactured exclusively by KTS-Electronic in Germany.
Product Generations
Explore the evolution of KTS metal detectors, gold detectors and ground scanners.
From the first GPA models to today's GPA XS series, every generation reflects continuous development, field experience and German engineering.

In 2008, KTS introduced the GPA 1000. With higher search performance, it quickly became one of the company’s best-selling ground scanners.

The second generation of the GPA 1000 has been available since 2013.

The third-generation GPA 1000 followed in 2016 with GOLD SCAN II. Today, the latest generation is produced as the GPA 1000 XS.

In 2006, KTS introduced the first GPA ground scanners. The GPA XL series made it possible to detect metals and cavities at greater depths.

In 2012, KTS introduced the GPA DUO-XL, operated with the GPA universal probe.

In 2015, the GPA DUO-XL received an update in a more compact design.

The successor model GPA 500 has been available since 2016. Today, the compact successor is offered as the GPA 500 XS.

The high-performance GPA 3000 was introduced in 2016 with the new vertical 1 meter super probe. Its compact successor, the GPA 3000 XS, remains one of the strongest KTS ground scanners.
Visualization and PI detectors
From PULSE SCAN to GOLD SCAN
In 2007, the KTS development team developed the first metal detector that could be connected to a computer and use visualization software to provide more information about the find. PULSE SCAN consisted of the PULSE AR III and the additional PULSE SCAN electronics.

The first GOLD SCAN detector was launched in 2008.

In 2010, GOLD SCAN was introduced with Bluetooth connectivity.

GOLD SCAN II was launched in 2015.

PULSE SCAN 2007

The first PULSE AR III was launched in 2001.

A new PULSE AR III generation followed in 2013.

From VLF detectors to pulse induction technology
As an electrical engineer, the company founder initially developed various VLF metal detectors and then specialized in more powerful pulse induction detectors with metal differentiation. The PULSE series brought the breakthrough, and KTS metal detectors were used worldwide. The PULSE AR III is still produced today.
